Im thinking McCain has been told to put Romney on the ticket or get out of the republican party. Just a strong hunch.

McCain is in deep trouble and he knows it. Im sure he has been told to watch his mouth and do as told. If I am Chair of the GOP, he would be getting slapped down good and taking some nasty medicine. Its the last chance to make him get in line.

If McCain gets the presidency, he will be living with the threat of mutiny, 24/7. He deserves no less.

I don’t know if Romney is the right match to salvage McShame, but they need to think this through very carefully.

If McCain watches his mouth and does as he is told, it will be the first time.

While I'm no fan of McCain's stands on immigration, free-speech, global warming and other issues, he stands a very good chance of becoming the next president. The idea of anyone in the GOP party hierarchy telling McCain to "watch his mouth and do as told" is ridiculous, both because McCain would probably deck the fool to popular acclaim and because the GOP needs McCain to win - a McCain loss will put the Republican Party in a hole it might not climb out of for a generation or more.

I'd expect McCain to pick someone like Fred Thompson or Kay Bailey Hutchinson for his running mate.
