My neighbor tried out an anti depressant. She told me that “suicide” kept coming into her mind. She had to FIGHT it off. Luckily she read the packaging and saw the warning on it and knew it was the DRUG tempting her.

She decided to throw the stuff out and just talk about her problems rather than mask them with chemical. Now she’s back to normal. I really chastised her for taking that crap.

I had a neighbor like that. She was a SAH mom with a lot of debt, 2 kids approaching college age, and a husband who’d lost his job a few months before thru no fault of his own and who was having difficulty finding another one. She was “depressed” and went to a doctor, who prescribed Wellbutrin.

A few months later, she went off the Wellbutrin after deciding there was a REASON she was depressed - the family had no money and she felt helpless. Subsequently, she found a job that would at least pay the necessities until her husband found another job, which he did after a year or so.

The lesson ? Depression can *gasp* actually have specific causes other than a “chemical imbalance” !
