Biblical hero Joseph 'was really a Muslim' Palestinians make astonishing claim, deny they'll help restore burned tomb
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Building at Joseph's Tomb site after Palestinian Authority took control in 2000 .
In the wake of an attempt by Palestinians to burn down Joseph's Tomb Judaism's third holiest site Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction issued a statement denying it will help restore the shrine, referring to both the shrine and the biblical patriarch as "Muslim."
"Pay no attention to the rumors that we will work with Israel to restore the burial site of the holy Muslim Joseph," said the statement, issued from Nablus, the biblical city of Shechem. "We are going to guard this holy Muslim site."
Joseph's Tomb is the believed burial place of the son of Jacob who was sold by his brothers into slavery and later became viceroy of Egypt.

Amen!
Because of the influence of European art on Western Christianity, and Europe’s role in spreading the religion. Nothing to do with crypto-racist theories like a holy white bloodline. Michelangelo would’ve laughed at that.
Adam's genealogy can also be traced to everyone else on the planet, so appealing to his purported complexion isn't very helpful.
Muslims claim much of Jewish history as their own with a few changes.
Thank you, that is informative. Still, I believe most of the artists were not necessarily painting Him as they did to achieve historical accuracy, but to achieve transcendence through their own cultural lens of beauty. Again, witness African and Asian images. No one alive knows what He really looks like, so claiming any portrayal as authentic and another not is pure speculation.
But the Jews actually started with Gods promise to Abraham to make a great nation of his offspring. Joseph was one of the Hebrews. He was sold into bondage to Egypt. He later brought his family to Egypt to save them from the Famine in their homeland. Then several hundreds of years later, they were placed into bondage and Moses came along and led the Hebrews to the promised land which was Israel. Of course it was much larger than before the Israeli leaders have given up most of it to Palistine.
Not actual muslims but their decendants were there. That would have been Ishmael, son of Abraham and Hagaar, Sarah’s maid.
From the Islamic viewpoint, "Muslim" does not mean "follower of Mohammod", it means "servant of God". So by that definition Abraham, Joseph, etc were Muslims.
This does not mean that the real Joseph would not puke at the thought of serving that entity that the Islamists worship
Interesting. I’m at work, so I’ll have to work up a reply over lunch.
No of course not they took their education from the RAT’s. Amen. Facts what facts.
Concur. David was a red-head.
The angel also told Hagaar Ishmael would become a great nation but he would be a wild ass of a man who would father a rebellious nation.
Thanks, Buggs.
The thread has some interesting comments.
Someone needs to show these nit-wits a timeline.
Well stated xzins.
BTW, it is a misnomer to refer to the Bible as “Christian” as separate from “Jewish”, considering every author of each book was Jewish, and the main object of faith throughout the Word is God whose Son is also Jewish and King of the Jews.
Ishmael was the half brother of Isaac. Isaac took Rebecca for a wife and they had twins, Jacob and Esau. Jacob took Rachel for a one of his wives and they had Joseph and Benjamin.Ishmael would become the father of the future muslims. But muslims are people who followed the so called prophet Muhammud who was a future generation coming out of Ishmael. He had no religious ties to Joseph.
... who some believe was the father (Ismael, not Abraham) of the muslim religion. There's a TV minister who talks extensively about this. I can't remember his name though.
No. Abrahams wife was Sarai whose name was later changed to Sarah. It was Isaac who sent his servant to obtain a wife for him from his mothers homeland. That would have been Rebekah.
