I don’t disagree with that. I don’t fully understand why FR did the purge in the first place, but I wasn’t a Rudy guy anyway, and really wasn’t concerned about it.
But if they saw fit to clean out FR over Rudy’s candidacy, they certainly can’t hold McCain to the same standard and do any differenty.
The tendency of good Freepers to excuse a leftist is mindboggling.
Well, Miers is not the Supreme Court justice, is she? Alito is. In Bush, we had a president who actually listened to his conservative base, so when we bitched and moaned about Miers, he capitulated and pulled her in favor of Alito.
If people like you get their way and Hillary or Obama become president, what do you think the response to our complaints will be when they send Ginsburg clones up to the court? I already know the answer:
“Better put ice on that...”
I was a Hunter supporter. I voted for Paul, since he was the only conservative in the race at the time.
By sticking with the Republican party as it moved left, we have already insured that outcome. Is it wise to continue to put our stamp of approval on this process?
You left out all the American that will get killed and our allies in Iraq and Afghanistan who will all be killed. That will be really great won’t it.
Maybe you missed the fact that Obama will be commander and cheif of the armed forces and our chief executive. Those are actually important roles to play. In fact, an Obama presidency may even have an effect on the country.
We will also need warrants to monitor international phone calls. You all need to wake up to what an Obama Presidency will mean for this country.
Are you a Hussein plant since 1-10-2008?
McCain stood against the most liberal aspect of the recent Republican leadership, which was there out of control spending.
No I am voting for McCain. You are sitting home to get Obama elected so you support Obama.
In McCain, we have a candidate who has told us in no unclear terms that the only way in which our opinion matters to him is that it will influence him to do the opposite.
When McCain nominates his Miers, this time we won’t get listened to.
As far as Bush, he has listened to us maybe once a year so far, otherwise acting like a big time transnational socialist. Roberts and Alito are great, but I think in the balance even they do not come close to mitigating the damage on almost all other fronts.
McCain is a known crook and gigolo with no sympathy for the average American.
You’re a leftist then. You’re supporting McCain so you support socialism.
This is a false dichotomy. I am conservative because it is the only sane ideology through which a great country like ours can be run. I abhor modern liberalism (i.e.: socialism) because it is, essentially, two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.
This is a straw man argument, in which you have constructed a false set of choices, and merits no further discussion.
Sorry Buddy! I will NOT Continue to Fight My Own Party. After all Stupid Is, What Stupid Does!
If the GOP does not care about what their base cares about, then its really not my party anymore now is it? The Republicans keep moving more and more to the left and I will not go with them or help them get there.
I really do not care who the wins in November because none of them represent me and my values anyways.
When the republicans had all 3 houses they were worst than the Rats, so dont try and feed me the better than Osama/Clinton Bull$hit Okay.
Maybe when McAmnesty goes down in Flames in November the GOP will get the message loud and clear that we Will Not Fight Our Own Party Anymore. After all Stupid Is, What Stupid Does!
After decades of practicing corruption, he is not credible in that stance. It is very similar to his campaign finance stance - this member of the Keating 5 reacting to his own personal faults, rather than doing the honorable thing and realizing that a person who is so prone to corruption and graft should not be in that position in the first place. His policies say, “Stop me before I engage in corruption again - left up to my own devices, I cannot stop myself.”
You epitomize your tagline with insulting comments like that, FRiend.
I never said this was going to be pain free. There is going to be a battle between socialism and liberty loving people. Let the battle begin now, McCain just sustains the status quo.
Nice rant. Couldn’t have said it better.
Thanks, it’s just how I feel.
I have always fought against the Rats. Now either I have a party that is going to help me in that fight or it is going to join with the rats and fight against me. The Republican party has become no more than what the Rats used to be and I will not aid them in going further to the so called center.
That was a compliment, not an insult. At least I read it that way.
Did you bother to watch what happened in Congress yesterday. It seems to me that Republicans are opposing the Democrats on a few important issues, such as whether or not we are going to spy on terrorists. Seems like a real difference to me.
I have plenty I do not like about the party, but their is no equivalency between the two political parties in this country.
