Just a note. There is a difference in the monarchy and “noble” classes of Europe that confronted Jefferson and to a lesser extent Lincoln and the economic classless society of Karl Marx. America and her ideals are spit in the eye to BOTH the idea of being ruled by Kings (as God’s prerogative) and being ruled by the dictatorship of the proletariat as the socialistic stopgap to pure (and unachievable) communism.

Lincoln raised himself up by his bootstraps to be the “log cabin to White House” American success story. This type of democratic republicanism puts to shame the ruling monarchies of his day — as well as puts to shame Karl Marx’s idea that once you are in the lower worker class, you can never rise above it. American capitalism and republican democracy. It works.

Indeed it does. Capitalism is great because it allows failed notions and product to fail. Equality is greater because it doesn’t assume that a son will always be as smart and capable as his father. In the U.S.A. it isn’t who your father or family is, it is who you are and what YOU bring to the table. The wealthiest man in the U.S.A. came from nothing and the sky is the limit for the political aspirations of any American with the looks talents and political skills to make people believe in their message.
