I currently have some specialized work software that ties me to Windows. If only I could switch . . .

Is this article about operating systems or the author?

If Apple would make an OS that would run on a variety of hardware setups, then I might give it a whirl, but until then no apples today. ;0)

I don’t think anyone will ever take the “geek” out of that.

Mac + VMWare Fusion or Parallels = flawless Windows app compatibility.

Two reasons to keep Windows rather than switch to Mac:
1. I just purchased a beastily equipped PC with a Dual Core processor, scads of RAM and storage with top name components for a mere $800. A Mac is just too damned expensive.
2. I like WinXP Pro. Stable, responsive for my needs and runs everything I want it to run.

I'm a long-time Windows user (as well as having been a Windows Server administrator for many years). I made the switch to a MacBook over a year ago. Although I have a home network of several Windows PC's and servers connected with my MacBook, I gravitate more and more to my Mac with each passing day to the point where the Mac gets the most use. Just plain better and more useful.
My adult daughters also made the switch to Macs during the last year, as well as many friends of mine. Windows suck. Even more so since I upgraded to Leopard on the Mac.

the only thing I don’t like is the dock...I just think it is stupid, and not some breakthrough thing. The taskbar is better.
But, other than that, I love Macs now and can’t wait to get a Macbook Pro. I just hope they release an updated version by the time I choose to get one, probably in April or May of this year.
One feature I love, but I don’t know what it is called, I have seen some people do. They are able to be in the internet and then hit some button and move the mouse on their laptop and immediately every window open is a thumbnail, making it easy to switch windows/programs on command.
That is awesome. Anybody know what that feature is called?
With fusion and parallels, there is no reason not to go Mac anymore.

Less expensive You get what you pay for.
All the time I spent fighting the bugs in MS Software over the years, translated into lost income would buy me dozens of Macs.

Apple used to be more expensive.
Haven’t you read the rash of articles comparing Mac and Dell etc? Even the new thinnest Thinkpad is 3000 bucks and it doesn’t compare to the MacBook Air.
All Macs today can play Windoze anyway, so what is it you are trying to say?

Interested in the specs on your $800 beast.
If you are going to do it that way, why not build a Hackentosh so you can run OSX as well as Windoze?

You’re saying I could run MS Office, i.e., Word, Excel, and MS Access on a Mac?
And if so, could I run those apps under Mac’s OS, or do I need to install Windows on the Mac first?
And finally, would Access databases I write VB code for while using a Mac, be able to function when transferred to a Windows PC?
Appreciate your input.

Even the new thinnest Thinkpad is 3000 bucks and it doesnt compare to the MacBook Air.Are you high? The new X300 Thinkpad smokes the MacBook Air in ever category. Fanboys are funny.
