This was wonderful. Thanks for posting. I use this song to teach my students about the importance of knowing history as it relates to their ability to exchange meaning in communication. I started doing this after a student asked me why he had to learn about the Viet Nam War as it had nothing to do with him and had no relevance to his life. BTW: how many references did you know without looking?
