Thanks! I forgot about all that and was trying to use url tags. No prob', my pleasure. The "Preview" button on the "Posting Comment" page usually will render things properly, such that you can try the link you just created, to see if it works correctly. That catches my typos rather well, too. ;-)

If we fed the sun a ship full of black beans could we get a Solar Flux Fart of 75?
Sorry, I was late today.

Since we’re talking “global cooling” here do you have a picture of those lovely ladies in fur lined bikinis? .^

Oooohh, that thought sends me out into the snow to cool off...
Unfortunately, no pic of fur-lined bikinis... that photo is from the "How to Post a Thread" link I gave above... here are a few more...
And yes, there are still more on that page... just the thing to combat Global Cooling...

“Still nothing?”
I’ve been updating daily but only pinging once a week on Friday. I’m kinda timid about pinging people every day when it is same-old-same-old (especially if I’ve got nothing cute t say or important to add). I think I’ll do graphs for every month too so the data is easy to see. I really hope I’m not running this thing a year from now ... or much later than November 5th. .^
Is that what you meant to ask about?

I’ve been looking for the post that I saw yesterday...someone said that sunspot activity had started again. I take it that this is not true? When and if I find the poster I’ll ping you to it.
To: I got the rope
Just checked the observatory (they update several times a day):
Flux Density Values in sfu for 22:00 on 2008:02:27
Julian Day Number : 2454524.406
Carrington Rotation Number : 2067.233
Observed Flux Density : 0070.5
Flux Density Adjusted for 1 A.U. : 0069.2
URSI Series D Flux, Adj. x 0.9 : 0062.2
... still at minimum.
Maybe the poster was saying they’ve had another sunspot as in: “Wow, another sunspot at last!!!” .^
P.S. I’ve recently learned to not refer to stories about the solar wind as “breaking news” if I want to be taken seriously

FWIW, all the radio amateurs are going nuts . . . . sunspot minimum = lousy reception.
Ducie Island was on the air and it was all we could do to pick them up . . . of course, they ARE on the other side of the world . . . .

Yeah, I can see where that could be a problem.
Also, I came across a nifty link that includes information about sunspot activity from some months ago. It’s from October 26th of last year: “Zero, zero, zero sunspots for 18 straight days now. A single sunspot appeared briefly October 6-7, no sunspots for four days prior, one sunspot for the final few days of September, and none for the three whole weeks prior to that.”

Look at this, from my state of NH:
Concord sets low temperature record
Article Date: Friday, February 29, 2008
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) _ As snow continues piling up toward a record in Concord (New Hampshire), the temperature dipped down to a record.
With a low of 11 below zero around dawn, it’s the coldest February 29th on the books.
The previous record was 1 below, in 1980.
Concord wasn’t the coldest spot in the state. It was around 30 below in the North Country.

Brrrrrr!!!
Yeah, one of the problems with solar minimums is how the solar wind supposedly blocks cosmic rays which play a role in cloud formation. More clouds while it’s cold already and you have a bad situation brewing.
I hope you are doing ok.
