Sorry we should of been clearer. We were talking about the possibility in the General Election. We were wondering if McCain might pick up some of the Blue Collar Dem vote based on the racial prejudices of the average Blue Collar Democrat voter.

CNN is showing Prince William with over 5,000 votes counted in GOP and only 29% counted. Nil desperandum.
To: CharlesWayneCT
OK, I feel better now. At My precinct in Prince William, Romney got 30 votes, and beat Ron Paul by 11 votes.
Rah.!!
Romney took 6%. McCain won, but with only 46%. We had about 500 votes, we usually have a LOT more than that.

Interesting...Kinda like I was trying to say when I posted that McCain would have to propose a "Contract with Conservatives" (I'd like it to be called something else but heck...imitation, flatery, sincere...you know)
He would have to promise to initate steps to actively address and promote conservatie issues in his first one hundred days. Along with what you mentioned > could < be immigration and border fence, WOT, less government, lower taxes, SCOTUS issues, etcetera...all the usual suspects.
I don't know if it would convince me to come to the polls but it couldn't hurt.

McCain is inching close to 50%. I had kind of hoped we’d keep him below 50%.

Do you really need to ask? It’s DC.

Yes, the state web site is not doing well with their “precincts reporting”. It seems they are recording the precincts as “reported” when the data comes in, but not putting the actual numbers up until later.
We won’t look so bad after all — the numbers really looked bad their for a while. Still, my precinct was about half of what we do for a typical primary.

I get it. Our candidates suck LONG and HARD... so were counting on manipulating the electorate by somehow predicting which one on the other side will be the LEAST electable and then rooting for them? That is a factor in all presidential elections, regardless of whether our candidates suck. Sizing up the probable rival candidates is part of the game. Do we hope for the most flawed and divisive among them to wind up with the nomination? Damned straight.

That’s the argument the Clinton camp has been floating for the last four days. “I’m against discrimination, but I’m not against taking advantage of discrimination”. All their usual proxies have been making the rounds saying she’s more electable because those mean racists won’t vote for him. She hasn’t addressed the mean misogynist vote yet.
