Just the threat of enforcement is causing them to leave Arizona and Oklahoma.

No, the threat of punishment is causing them to leave, not enforcement on employers.

And they are not leaving to return to their own countries, they are moving to other states within the union.

The reform only kicks in IF the fence has been built (double walled) and after TOTAL COMPLETION and then funded for FIVE YEARS FIRST after the completion, THEN and only then do any of the amnesty provisions kick in.

Folks, ANYTHING that gives an illegal a legal status is AMNESTY.

This is just another back door amnesty the same as the Dream Act AMNESTY for reinstating the anchor baby law abolishe in 1996.

Yeah, I like how the people who don’t actually live with them day to day, like the rest of us rabble, try to tell us what to think and feel.

Arizona is proving that just enforcing the laws works. Let’s try that.

“1. Build the fence; secure the borders...all of them
2. Deport ALL illegals
3. Prohibit entitlement services to any and all illegals
4. Redefine ‘citizen’ to mean those born in the US to parents in the country LEGALLY
5. Prosecute employers who knowingly hire illegals; high fines per head, per day
6. Prohibit SS retirement and disability payments to NON Citizens”

Why can’t our politicians see how important and how simple the solution is. By simple I don’t mean the implementation of the above plan...but the design. It’s obvious, simple and clear cut. Would it be hard to implement? Some parts wouldn’t be easy but our country is at risk.

Immigration reform is needed but contrary to the owellian meme of the DBM it does NOT HAVE TO ADRESS THE 12+ Million illegals.

You can make a guest worker program and have strict enformcement to make the current illegals unemployable and self deport.

We have already seen this with teh exodus of illegals TO california and texas where the laws are lax.

If there are plenty of visas for farm workers, grape pickers, hotel maids, etc, then why aren't they being snapped up by someone?
Is it possible that the process is broken?

I tend to agree with not rewarding lawbreakers, but.... when you have 15 to 20 million people already here, many that are here only to work, that aren't going to move out of this country without force being used, what do you do to make it right for this country?

There needs to be a process that these people can go through to become a legal worker in this country.
Not a citizen, not a permanent legal alien, but a legal temporary worker.

Show me some other type of reform and I will opine on it then.

I've got a great "reform" idea. Actually enforce the last "reform".

House Democrats are crafting a “scaled-down” immigration reform measure despite the political minefields that surround the issue,

Translation: to legal and illegal Hispanics, vote DUmbo, we're working to help you stay in spite of the political minefields.

Then by all means use force. If this was almost any other criminal problem, politicians would be dry-humping themselves to death to throw as much "action" at it as possible to solve it.

because the aristocracy wants to create a “delta” class of humans. (see brave new world) The Belway sees themselves as Kennedy-eque “alphas”, LA-ers and NYkers are the “betas”, the flyovers are the “gammas”.

If there was ever a period when both Parties were so wrong on one issue this is it.

This is the time for a true 3rd Party to emerge. I don’t mean protest votes, I’m talking about the real development of a third Party. Most of the other parties at this point are small and disconnected, they should group together and find common principles with illegal immigration and the war on terror being the binding themes.

A bill for term limits would be acceptable.

Why can’t our politicians see how important and how simple the solution is.

I have no doubt they know how important it is. And I have no doubt their solutions and proposed bills would be as simple and direct as the ones we suggest--if only the goals were the same. But they're not. I'm sure they'd love to be able to just put their honest plan out there without having to pad it up with camouflage.

IMHO, their solutions are impossibly complex only to obfuscate. Better to be thought unnessarily bureaucratic than deliberately at cross-purpose to a free and sovereign nation.

I agree that you could do this.
I'm not sure why you would want to make tens of millions of people self deport JUST so they can apply and come back into the country to do the same job they were doing before.
If you are going to have some type of immigration reform to allow this number of temporary workers enter the USA and work at jobs that are already being worked by illegal immigrants, why not have a process to allow currently illegal immigrants that HAVE a job put in their bid to continue at that job.

Understand me, I do not like it that there are this many illegal immigrants in the USA, I am all in favor of self deportation if that's what they want to do, but I am also a realist and I realize that this many people being caused, by force, to relocate is going to cause a HUGE problem in our society.

We must be living through a Twilight Zone episode. I mean, it’s unfathomable that anyone in Congress would be doing this in an election year, after the drubbing their phone systems took during the last immigration bill’s events.

The only path that should be allowed for illegals: Join the army Fight for this country Become a citizen

Not no, but hell no, first a foreigner can already join the military, they just need to be in the country legally.
