John McCain funded by Soros since 2001

Candidate's Reform Institute also accepted funds from Teresa Kerry

As Sen. John McCain assumes the GOP front-runner mantle, his long-standing, but little-noticed association with left-wing donors such as George Soros and Teresa Heinz Kerry is receiving new attention among his Republican critics.

In 2001, McCain founded the Alexandria, Va.-based Reform Institute as a vehicle to receive funding from George Soros' Open Society Institute and Teresa Heinz Kerry's Tides Foundation and several other prominent non-profit organizations.

McCain used the institute to promote his political agenda and provide compensation to key campaign operatives between elections.

In 2006, the Arizona senator was forced to sever his formal ties with the Reform Institute after a controversial $200,000 contribution from Cablevision came to light. McCain solicited the donation for the Reform Institute using his membership on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In a letter to the Federal Communications Commission, he supported Cablevision's push to introduce the more profitable al la carte pricing, rather than packages of TV programming.

One of the directors of Soros's Open Society Institute is Morton Halperin, a leftist formerly associated with the Institute for Policy Studies, an organization the U.S. government officially identified as a Communist front.

Max Palevsky, another Reform Institue funder since inception (in the $50,000+ club) has also been a contributor to IPS (and a slew of other leftist causes).

“appropriate”

More than appropriate. It sums up these dunderheads who say they’ll hold their nose and vote (R) anyway.

Those are the same dunderheads that say "he's the only one that can win" during primaries, right?

Just checkin'. ;-)

Right. He’s the “only” one that can fight the beast!

Or, the latest tack, “they’ll come to their senses” and vote for the (R).

(((((WRONG))))))

You’re welcome. It is troubling to see these relationships, many of which I first learned about during 2004 when I started reading FBI files and researching John Kerry’s connections.

It is more troubling to see that these non-profit groups, particularly ones aligned with the same legislator passing legislation, have been used to create a false sense of popularity for their cause-du-jour (particularly when that cause is Anti-American!!!!)

While I haven’t cared for McCain for years, this whole thing is disgusting and saddens me. But it’s best to know sooner, than later, I suppose.

“He denied it, and when Quinn read the listing off the web page to him, he got mad, denied it, said he didn’t know anything about it, would have to check on it, then hung up on Quinn.”

ROFL

Too funny. :)

This explains a lot of the positions he has adopted since being defeated by GW.

Yes - and who helped GW win? The faith based conservatives - the same ones that McCain has came against since then.

McCain-Fiengold was an attempt, or at least sold as an attempt, to do it the "restrictions" way. the problem was it restricted the citizens not the politicians, the up surge of internet usage has been a boon to accountability for our politicians and the electorate since we can now by pass the BIASED media that Soros and his ilk control.

Two prime quotations from the two of you!!! Even if you strip John McCain bare naked and show every nasty disgusting wart, it won't matter because Steve Forbes and Jeb Bush have endorsed the next Bob Dole candidacy in the race to the bottom for the Repellican Party!!!

After this happens, the disdain for McCain will bring only pain and leave a stain, to say nothing of the strain!!!
