contrast FR to DU. On the former youll see some biting wit/humor on almost every thread. On the latter, none deadly serious (and profanity laced) all the time. I've noticed that, as well.
I don't frequent the DUmp, but every now and then an LGF link will point out something outrageous, and I venture in.
The whole place has NO humor, NO happiness, NO joy. There is NOTHING comparable to the Official Friday Silliness Thread. What passes for humor is mostly Bush-bashing.
Of course, if I hated my life, my country, and my job, I might have no humor as well.

Thanks! Actually, they both passed on many years ago.

Genuine religious faith generally makes for happiness for any political persuasion.
For many liberals, especially of the far left, their “religious faith” unfortunately is nothing more than “faith in liberalism” and abstract, Utopian collectivism. They deign themselves as deities.
On the far other end of the spectrum, there are “conservatives” whose “faith” is, similarly, in sheer ideology - and, oftentimes, in similarly elevating the self to a deity (I, me, and my).
All beautifully explained in the Good Book.
