A typical sunspot compared to the size of the earth. Sunspots have all but vanished in recent years.

Global Cooling comes back in a big way This has to be total BS!
After all, who has more control over the climate of the Earth, AlGore or God?
When has God ever been able to promote the transferring of wealth as effectively as AlGore has?

Dr. Kenneth Tapping is worried about the sun. Solar activity comes in regular cycles, but the latest one is refusing to start. Sunspots have all but vanished, and activity is suspiciously quiet. The last time this happened was 400 years ago -- and it signaled a solar event known as a "Maunder Minimum," along with the start of what we now call the "Little Ice Age." Those of us into amateur radio know this as the "skip cycle", which occurrs every 11 years. It's already late in starting, and what few bursts of skip there have been haven't lasted very long. Skip is directly related to the solar cycle, ironically just like so-called "global warming" is .. LOL.

I remember as a kid growing up in the 60's reading about the coming ice age in my Weekly Reader. Then we had years of global warming tripe. Now we are looking at another ice age again. IN ONE LIFETIME??????
Nobody knows. Everyone's full of sh*t.

If this cooling happens, people will be burning more and more fossil fuels. Just think of all the CO2 released and what it will do to the planet!

Algore = false prophet.
I live in Alaska, we have minus 70 temps hitting the state this week. However, not all that unusual this time of year.
Something doesn’t jibe with this new global cooling talk. I also live near quite a few large glaciers and every one of them are retreating not advancing. If its global cooling you would expect them to be advancing. Maybe they will, they just haven’t had time yet to reverse the trend and start the other way.

Don't see any sunspots. Can't remember the last time I went to Spaceweather.com and didn't see any.

Global Cooling comes back in a big way Well of course...and Al "the boob" Gore will take credit because of his efforts and ability to control earth's climate. Now, if we just get him to tackle that pesky continental drift problem.

It is worth remembering as we read this that the Danish Meteorological group is far outside of what most other groups conclude is happening.

We are currently at the bottom of an 11 year solar cycle, so that is no surprise.
However, the depth of this cycle has been a surprise. The sun has been nearly completely clear for many more months than expected. Those who follow this sort of thing noticed this a couple of years ago.
It would be interesting if this were to pan-out, scientifically.

So research indicates that climate will change, perhaps in an unpredictable manner. I’d love to see the grant for that study.

Here is the April 2007 prediction
and the latest prediction (will be updated, so check this post in May 2008):
If the number of sunspots not will increase rapidly in a couple of months we will know if the assumptions are correct, i.e. if we have to burn more coal to stay warm.

The History Channel has a program on the little ice age Saturday evening 9:00 pm CST. I’ve watched it before, it’s a good program. I was amazed it made it through the liberal censorship of what we can watch.
