Go Paul, go!
No, but there's only so much one can do for any particular battle.
Bide our time, make our plans, lay the ground, wait and strike when the iron's hot, avoiding direct confrontation when you're in a losing position). Keep them on the defensive at all times. That's how to win.
Walk away and you lose. Everything.
Better yet, ship him off to Badger's Ass, Montana.
This is a bunch of CRAP!
Well, that explains where all the Romney supporters went.
Wow, Obama giving victory speech, looking and sounding very presidential. Reading the riot act to McCain, Bush and doing it in a very dignified way. They are fired up.
One of the most important things to me is the WOT, and I’m not sold on Huck for that yet. I’m also not sold on him re spending (not) on entitlements, including new ones. He also wanted to grant in-state tuition to illegals, which doesn’t make me very happy. I’ll have to look at his platform a little more. It will be interesting to see a debate between he and McCain and if they still play nicey-nice now that they don’t have Mitt to bash.
I understand. Mitt gave the best speech of his political life on Thursday and then suspended his campaign. But others on here have said that any that caucused for Mitt would not have their delegates counted. So it may have been a futile gesture.
The objective from here on out is to cast a protest vote against McCain. Now the Huckster may in the end throw his delegates to Juan McCain, but we can't do anything about that. The message is the goal here and this is the only way we can do it.
Agreed. Although, he may do well in Clark Co., too.
My two older kids (21 and 19) are both strong conservatives (can out debate any liberals their age LOL)...both very frustrated with how this election is going. Don't know yet how my 16 year old will turn out ( my rebellious one), but I'm praying. ;o)
They sure are. Disgusting. He mentioned President Bush, Rove.....blah blah blah.
What a mess we have in this primary.
As I understand it from the Dims web site, Dims can’t vote in the primary - only their caucus today counts. Pubbies are caucus and primary (about 50/50). That said, maybe some Dims didn’t realize they weren’t supposed to send in an absentee. The article I read this a.m. said that some were sending their ballots that way purposely as a protest vote (my guess is most of those would be Dims)
My complaint is that today I thought I was going to be able to express my wishes for what candidate I wanted and also to express my displeasure with the party for what has taken place. Neither happened. You were there, it was a procedure, not a debate. There was no discussion of the candidates. I don't know what is being reported as the "caucus results", but it is not what this member of my precinct believes.
I have no horse in this race either. I’m just rooting AGAINST McCain and this is the most fun I’ve had since the Primary voting started! LOL
One of the things that helped a little to allay my own fears re: Huck/WOT was Duncan Hunter, after endorsing him, coaching him a bit. He also did so on illegal immigration. Duncan is rock-solid on both issues, and I feel at least a little better with him having some influence on Huck.
Not unusual for Huckabee to be ahead and McCain with only 23% in the caucuses. If it were a primary the results might be different.
You nailed it.
McCain is in big trouble against McCain. At least against Hillary, McCain could count on Hillary annoying enough people to counteract McCain dullness or slip ups.
McCain has been a little shiite. Winning these winner take all states and probably Huckabee not getting enough votes to take the Louisiana delegates (and they will go all as uncommitted).
The Republican process was sent up for Rudy to win with some of the winner take all states on Super Tuesday ... and McCain ended up being the benefactor ... problem for McCain in November is that many of the states that annointed him are blue states that has will have little chance at winning in November ... he will have enough trouble winning the Red States ...
I just McCain as imploding during the debates or saying something really stupid during the fall campaign.
This way the whole election played out ... was that all five conservatives were wiped out (Gilmore, Brownback, Tancredo, Hunter, Thompson) ... and it just played into McCain hands ... better to be lucky than good in his case
ABSOLUTELY!!!! I’m so glad he his. Sure hope it turns out better for him this time - - we really need him. If enought Pubbies turn out, maybe we can replace some of the Dims in the state legislature, too. Not mine, though, I like them :-)
