I think he IS brilliant, a very accomplished theologian. The only problem is that he is fatally flawed.

I’d say that the Archbishop has similar problems.
Having read some of his equivocations on the TEC/ECUSA meltdown, I can say he elevates obfuscation into a fine art. If that's brilliance, then he's a genuine egghead.
