Why are people surprised that everyone and their sister is endorsing the presumptive nominee? Fred stayed neutral while the race was still going on, presumably because there wasn't anyone worth endorsing.

Now it’s time for McCain to do the right thing and put Fred on the ticket.

Seems fairly unlikely to me. But more likely than some of the other names floating around.
