Well, here we disagree. I’ve seen/read vicious attacks for no reason. I’ve read posts that are nasty just because someone is voting for or has voted for some politician. It surprised me. I never expected it here. My mistake.
I’m all for discussion and disagreement and debate but the name calling just doesn’t do it for me.
And, I’ve had incredibly fun experiences on here. Those far outweigh the nastiness.
Feelings run deep all the time for whatever reason but rudeness and viciousness should never be given a pass.
I’m so tired of the PC crap everywhere. Tell me I suck and I reply but dont’ coat it some PC crap. Or some inside joke I won’t get.
I’ve learned tons here and appreciate it but wonder if the nastiness and BS is worth the fun and info. Well, wonder if it’s worth the fun cos it’s all about the fun for me (hang me now).
I didn’t mean to excuse anything. I was trying to say that I can ignore the rudeness (when I’m in a benevolent mood) and try to concentrate on interesting and reasonable posts (such as yours, thank you).
As a guilty pleasure I sometimes just watch some of the nastier conversations for fun. Yes, I know I get my enjoyment from the wrong places sometimes. :D
I guess my point is that anywhere you go where you have large numbers of anonymous folks talking, there are going to be jerks (yes, and sometimes I can be a jerk too), especially when it comes to a hot-button thing like politics. Overall, I think it’s worth it here, but that’s me. Personally, I hope you stick around. If all the nice people leave...well, you get the idea. :D
It’s past my bedtime, so I’m outta here. Have a good night and hope to see you again.
You bet they will. Politics is not for fun seekers.
Then there's the little problem of partisans, obviously Republican, treating FR as a house organ. Outstaying an initial welcome frequently causes frayed nerves.
