So I find it hard to believe that Thompson was nothing but McCain’s Trojan Horse. If he had been purely working for McCain, he probably would have endorsed a little earlier, like the governors of Florida, Texas, and California. But coming out now is just accepting reality. Also if Fred was McCain's stalking horse, Fred would have campaigned in Michigan. Instead Fred pulled out of Michigan and Mitt won by a few points.
