I have been against McPain since 2003...but what you just mistakenly pointed may have changed my mind.
Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas are not going to be retiring in the next 4-8 years.
So if you're correct, and I think you are, then McCain would certainly replace the ultra-left wing Ginsburg or nutcase globalist Kennedy with a "moderate or mod-lib".
If all McCain does is replace a Stevens/souter/Kennedy "inform the SCOTUS decisions based on international law" attitude, with another Kennedy-lefty who doesn't believe that international law should enter into SCOTUS decisions, then it will radically alter the balance of the court in the right's favor.
If McCain by chance should win the election in November we will need to make sure he does not nominate a mushy moderate for the Supreme Court. We and many others got Pres. Bush to rescind the nomination of Harriet Miers, we can do it again if necessary.
No, it won’t. It did not do that with O’Conner or Souter. All they have done since they have been there is go more to the left. They agree with the libs significantly more often than with the conservatives.
if you recall, Souter was sold to Bush I as a conservative by a guy named Warren Rudman. Bob Dole even said “We (the repubs) were alllied to about that one (Souter).” His first decisions were radically left. And Rudman is McCain’s general campaign manager. I have no faith that we’d get a decent nominee through. We’d get another mod-lib to liberal. And they’d just keep on going left, just like all the moderates do.
Re:1049 Yep. Plus he’s gonna have Thompson and Olson types helping. I’m not to worried—unless the ‘rats win. Then I’ll be scared sh*tless. ;^)
Good Points Here:

Obama or Hilldebea$t would appoint SCOTUS candidates, who might make Ginzy look moderate.
