fwiw, I’m really not a GW-basher (most of the time)..... but he’s far from my ideal conservative president. I’ll take him over any of the most likely alternatives of the past decade but he has disappointed me (and others) so many times with his softness toward socialistic, big-government, big-spending, open borders weasels, allowing the ‘Rats and MSM to run wild over Plamegate and Gitmo and waterboarding etc., signing the despicable “Campaign Finance Reform” etc. etc. There’s no other current national leader who would have been better the past 6 years in the GWOT but I’m not myopic about the failings of the Bush admin. that could have been SO much better.......

Politics is war. And it is dirty.

And in spite of what the starry eyed think the big plays happen in back rooms.

Why would all of the voters, who were plenty angry, and fought so hard to stop the McCain/Kennedy amnesty bill by calling their reps., etc., end up voting for McCain.

That is the question I have been asking myself for weeks.

It makes absolutely no sense.

You're so articulate.

Ever thought about writing for a living?

(Don't)

No surprise, Fred always hung with McCain. I tried to tell my hubby a year ago, but he didn’t believe me. Whatever.

I'll bet they won't have a write in place either. We had eight votes for Mitt in our family and my daughter said she doesn't want to vote now. I told her I thought maybe they couldn't take Romney's name off since he just suspended.

We saw the Straight Talk Express bus on I-20 Thursday. Spouse made a bad signal. LOL. Anyway I am going to call someplace and find out what's ahead on this.

The Primaries need to change, don't you think? It really isn't right that a few liberal states get to pick the nominee!

Yup. Now I wonder what the Dems back room is going to do about Obama though.

Your tagline:

I think it’s a little too subtle for some people or maybe it’s just an old concept.

Old concept. I was thinking along the same lines, only "McCain/Kennedy: shouldn't we get a kiss first?"

No matter which conservative we support, we don’t matter. Conservatives are a small minority in this country now. Big government compassionates and liberals have taken over.

~”But just folding and letting the other guy collect the pot isn’t a win, no matter how one wants to claim it is such.”~

Who’s folding? But sometimes you let the other fella get overconfident so you can call his bluff next time around.

Since we don’t have a strong hand, no better time to let the other side get cocky.

The Dem side is a different story. They aren’t being controlled by a unified Party elite like the Pubbies are. They are in an internal power struggle. The Kennedy faction is trying to wrest back the Party from the Clintons. Obama is the Kennedy’s man. There will be no back room deal on that it’s a blood fight for Party control.

Exactly. They don’t want to hear our voice but we still have a voice in our own way but we have to use it.
