So I could get a household income of perhaps several thousand dollars a month if I had 4 wives in Ontario? No. Re-read that line- only one spouse can be claimed and that $1,500 amount is for a couple with one child. The other wives would have to claim as singles, who get ~$600 per month.
BTW $1,500 a month is nowhere near enough to live on in Toronto so it's not as generous as it sounds. I live alone and I had to budget carefully when my monthly take-home pay was $2,500.

Actually, the line reads $1500 per recipient with a child, so that means if each wife has one child, each spouse gets $1500.
That would work out to about $72,000 a year, for 4 wives with one child each.
