When I was a kid, in 1954 & 55, I lived in Morocco. Out in the country, it was common to see a man and a woman trudging along: the woman in front, bent over with an enormous bundle of twigs (to be turned into charcoal) on her back; the man behind, riding a donkey. I asked about this [The order of progress, not the man riding and the woman carrying the load. That was expected.], as I understood the custom was for the man to go in front with the woman following. That was certainly what I had seen in the cities.

I was told that had been the custom everywhere until World War II.

Then they learned about land mines

Thanks for that, it sure says a lot about the men and their supposed religion. The women and I guess even the kids are just property to them to be used as they see fit. Really sick!
