“No reason to believe we would not get the same from McCain.”

Overstated. We have plenty of reason to believe that there is still a great divide between McCain and Hilama on issues of abortion, Iraq, homarriage, and a host of other issues, and all the more so if McCain were to select a social conservative like Huckabee as a running mate.

Actions speak louder then words. McCain’s actions over the last 10 years give us much reason to doubt his words. You would have us belive the words. Most of us here are old enough to know you NEVER trust a politican’s words. He will tell you want you want to hear and then go do whatever he thinks is in his best intrest. McCain more then most has demonstated that just like Bill Clinton, his only principals is loyalty to John McCain. We have no reason to expect that to change. He going to have to show us something.

Not at all overstated.

McCain’s record of the last 8 years is to violate any Republican value he needs to to advance his political career.

Gang of 14, McCain-Leiberman, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, Torture Amendmentment, His Baker Commission etc etc etc.

The only way McCain can win our trust is to match some deeds to his actions. Well he is going to win the nominations now. So let him go back to his job in the Senate and pick some fights with the Democrats on Spending, Earmarks, the Border Fence or any other of a dozen Conservative issues.

He has the time to do that while Hillary/Obhama fight it out. He doens't have to win, he just has to prove to us he is willing to fight for us, not just against us. Based on his record, Conservatives have no reason to trust him and every reason to suspect him.
