Most likely the real CPAC members either left the room or did their version of the silent “boo” ( thumbs down, flipping the bird, standing up with backs towards McCain, shaking heads to disagree, ete., ) or did their own signs in silent protest.

Mere words. Based on his record McCain is going to have to back up his words with actions if he wants any measure of Conservative support in Nov. He has time while Hillary/Obama slug it out to go back to the Senate and match his words with deeds.

Absolutely. Thank you! I was working on a similar reply, but yours summed up exactly what I was going to say.

One speech doesn’t change your history of favoring the Socialist Democrats on many issues Senator.

I agree.

I McCain somehow wins the election in Nov (without my vote of course) and spends the next four years pushing the conservative agenda, building a fence, passing taxi cuts, etc.

Then and only then in 2012, I’ll consider voting for him for re-election.

That speech was about as good as we will get from him. I think it may have been the best speech he’s ever given. We shall see what happens from here on out. He will not match up well with Obama visually. We have to hope he can convey our values with passion and conviction.

We aren’t doing anything. You geniuses told us you could win the election without us icky right wingers. Well go to it. You got your “Win the moderate” strategy with McCain. Hop to it.

Don’t blame us if your strategy comes up short in Nov. We been telling you all along McCain cannot win. But you all knew better then us. Well ok, you got your "moderate" candidate. Go win your election.

So if McCain lies, and Romney lied, and Hillary, well (when she opens her mouth), and Obie reads his prepared words from On High, Huckabee prods along. Hmmmmmmm.

That they wanted Bush to lose the war. That they will use their moonbat base to get elected, but then will “find” it do much a danger to leave Iraq.

There are a lot of good speeches on record, but few actually have the outcome alluded to.

Of course McCain is going to say what he knows we want to hear. But there is still the issue of that glaring 24 year record that substantially contradicts conservative values.

Bush sold me with some good speeches and did he deliver the goods??? For the most part, NO!
One good speech is not going to roll me over.

” He will not match up well with Obama visually. We have to hope he can convey our values with passion and conviction.”

Well, since he doesn’t share OUR values, that won’t happen.

Ron Paul anyone?

Yes, I am now a Ron Paul supporter.

I will never vote for the other two liberals that are still in the race for the Republican Party!

I did not appreciate his remark to us conservatives yesterday to “calm down”. He is as arrogant as John Kerry.

My decision whether to vote McCain or not is now wholly depending on his VP choice. If it’s a solid conservative I’ll hold my nose and vote for him.
