Short of an act of God, I'm afraid you are right. And now that McCain has absolutely no reason to capitulate in any way to conservatives--I wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly has better things to do than attend the CPAC convention--perhaps he'll schedule an ear and nose hair trim instead.

Don’t be silly. He needs the majority of the conservatives to vote for him. He knows that.
