Ideas & Agenda for the GOP Party Today
All four remaining GOP presidential candidates attend the 2008 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Sen. John McCain (AZ), Rep. Ron Paul (TX), and Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney (MA) address and seek conservative support at nation's largest annual gathering. Fmr. Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR) speaks at CPAC on Saturday
Sounds like he may be looking for a graceful exit and leaving on a high note, ie. standing ovation from CPAC on conservative principals. We’ll wait and see. He could actually be stealing some of the limelight from McCain. Too bad for Johnny Boy.
I can’t find the link on Fox and can’t get into C-Span.
Is his speech over already?
They are reporting “suspending” his campaign...does that mean he is putting it on hold (like just in case). Please, please, tell me there is that hope.
See post # 108
FOX NEWS will cover Romney’s entire speech live.
I do too.
I’ll bet Halperin is thrilled. It would be great if this was a hoax and Romney announced he’s NOT quitting...but I doubt it.
McCain MUST be stopped. I’m coming to the mindset that it would be better to spend the next four years fighting a Democrat who opposes conservatives, rather than a Republican who opposes conservatives.
I think it means he holds onto his delegates.
I’ll still vote for him on Tuesday.
Withdrawal could come at CPAC speech at 12:15 pm ET
IF he’s actually “suspending”...that’s a little different than withdrawing...keeps the organization running to a lesser degree and gives him a degree of power (for example at convention time) going forward...they play it differently..
Ugh. Me too. I hate RealPlayer. And the FoxNews feed can’t muster up any kind of close ups.
“Suspending” is nicey-nice verbage for finito, nada mas, nary a nary. Kucinich ‘suspended’ also.
Reports of Romney’s demise do not make sense, so the hope of a misreport, lie or hoax is quite probable.
Me, too.
LOL I didn’t say he was a 100 percent pure Conservative I said he was getting Bahed and Romney was given a pass..
McCain has sponsored some horrible legislation... I give him the benefit of the doubt on some of it.. Some of it I think he was trying to do what he thought was right but later found out wasn’t.. i.e.,
1. Campaign Finance reform was needed both sides supported it.. however, it happened to wind up hurting the Republicans because the Democrats figured out ways to cheat .. Either way it is not a good law and is a mistake.
2. McCain already said he would change the Amnesty bill and thought it was a mistake and that he would enforce the border first.
3. Gitmo... Gitmo is a bad deal in the eyes of the world... He never said let them free he said figure out the problem bring them to military prisons in the states and deal with them... Jury out on this one... I personally don’t think its smart but the way its spun is unfair.
For what being a REAL CONSERVATIVE?
What planet are you on?
besides latest breaking news says he is suspending his campaign so maybe he will get that standing O after all...
oh yeah, like I posted, the it’s quite certain the source {Time rag} will report on mcCain’s questionable temperament before November.
McCain wants to close Gitmo and bring them to the US - BAD MOVE. McCain is also against water-boarding as it’s “torture” - BAD MOVE.
If for no other reason- he gets my gratitude for taking on Huck and McCain.
Thanks for your help. I think I have computer problems here.
It’s 9:31 PST. Who is speaking on the fox live stream online? It certainly isn’t Romney. Is everyone seeing the same thing I am at foxnews.com at this time?
