Sharia law in UK is 'unavoidable'
BBC ^

Sharia law in UK is 'unavoidable' The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams says the adoption of Islamic Sharia law in the UK is "unavoidable".

Dr Williams told BBC Radio 4's World at One that the UK has to "face up to the fact" that some of its citizens do not relate to the British legal system.

Dr Williams argues that adopting some aspects of Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion.

For example, Muslims could choose to have marital disputes or financial matters dealt with in a Sharia court.

He says Muslims should not have to choose between "the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty".

In an exclusive interview with BBC correspondent Christopher Landau, ahead of a lecture to lawyers in London later on Monday, Dr Williams argues this relies on Sharia law being better understood. At the moment, he says "sensational reporting of opinion polls" clouds the issue.

He stresses that "nobody in their right mind would want to see in this country the kind of inhumanity that's sometimes been associated with the practice of the law in some Islamic states; states; the extreme punishments, the attitudes to women as well".

But Dr Williams says the argument that "there's one law for everybody... I think that's a bit of a danger".

"There's a place for finding what would be a constructive accommodation with some aspects of Muslim law, as we already do with some other aspects of religious law."

Dr Williams adds: "What we don't want either, is I think, a stand-off, where the law squares up to people's religious consciences."

Yep...they want to be able to bury their wife up to he neck and throw stones at her head until she dies because she didn’t wear her burka to the store.
Mean ‘ol British system won’t let them do that!

I’m reminded of the story of, when it was explained to a British commander that Indians had a custom of suttee, or the ritual burning of a man’s widow on his funeral pyre, the commander said in response that the British had a custon of hanging people who kill innocent women by setting them on fire.

And the Brit was on Indian soil! Now some in the UK seem not to want to defend their own.

We are in for some awful, awful times. it will get much worse before it gets better, IF it gets better at all.

“Dr Williams argues that adopting some aspects of Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion.”

If social cohesion is the goal, then yes. However, social cohesion is not a rationally supportable goal in a ‘free’ society. It is a sign that the appeasers and apologists in the UK are winning the argument, sadly.

“He says Muslims should not have to choose between “the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty”.”

Why not? The foundation of the society in which they are living establishes the rule of law. Acceptance of that foundation is necessary for assimilation into the culture and the country. If they don’t like it (whether native born or immigrant) they should find somewhere else to live...someplace more in line with their way of thinking.

“He stresses that “nobody in their right mind would want to see in this country the kind of inhumanity that’s sometimes been associated with the practice of the law in some Islamic states; states; the extreme punishments, the attitudes to women as well”.”

Then why give it root in your country? Why? Mindless, senseless, self-destructive idiocy.

“But Dr Williams says the argument that “there’s one law for everybody... I think that’s a bit of a danger”.”

No, Dr. Williams. Methinks that you and your mentality of appeasement are the danger, the clear and present danger.

The UK is lost if this becomes mainstream thinking...

Lock and Load.

This is so sad. Shows you what too much immigration can do.

We best be thinking about that too.

There was, once upon a time, a song called “THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN ENGLAND”. Now the people who stood up to the “Blitz”, the people who stood alone to save the western world, the people who at one time defined “greatness” have decided to go “quietly into the night”.
Finally, the “sun has truly set on the British Empire”

"It’ll spread to Scotland and Ireland next."

The U.S. is as vulnerable to this as is any other Western nation. For crap sake, there's a fair chance we'll elect a Muslim for our President in November. And if he does't quite make to the White House, Barak Hussein Obama is popular enough in the United States to make me see that Islam isn't feared nearly enough by blind Americans.

Where’s the sense in first inviting members of a foreign religion by the millions and then announcing you’re letting them take over?
