How that was done is not yet known, but there are several ways whoever is behind it could have rigged it in McCain’s favor. McCain may not have benefited from Independents and Dems voting for him like they did in other states, but if conservative GOP voters were disenfranchised it amounts to the same benefit to McCain. Some precincts reported 20% of the GOP voters were denied ballots in CA. If true, then we have no idea what the result would have been in an HONEST election. We DO know the polls showed Romney with a significant lead in CA. Were the polls that far off, or did liberals engineer a McCain victory?

Yes, the great anti-Mormon conspiracy theory so rampant among FReepers these days. (Even Hugh Hewitt was buying into it today, accusing 20-25% of Huckabee supporters as being "anti-Mormon." No facts. Doesn't matter these days. Accuse away). So, you're seriously trying to tell us that McCain "insiders" somehow were able to turn around thousands of votes in 49 to 51 districts in California from the ocean to the border to border to border?

I didn’t say anything about any “anti-Mormon Conspiracy” or about McCain insiders.

My own theory is that liberals working in the registrar of voter offices in each county tried to disenfranchise the most conservative registered members GOP. That could be easily done by anyone with access to the registrar databases and a little knowledge of demographics — and since government bureaucrats are overwhelmingly liberal, not implausible. You leave the voters alone based on young and elderly because those are the most liberal age groups in the GOP. You also leave alone those people with Hispanic names. You also leave alone the voters in poor neghborhoods or in retirement communities based on address. The others, you change to NP. Presto ! You have just disenfranchised the most conservative wing of the GOP, the white/middle-age/high-income voter and guaranteed that the most liberal GOP candidate wins the GOP Primary so you liberals on both Dem and GOP sides to pick from in the General.
