My father (my >70 father) told me this whole primary was a charade. I am beginning to think he is right.
The GOP needs to get rid of the existing primary process. Liberals in Iowa and New Hampshire are deciding for the rest of us which candidates we get to choose from.
I want to see a single national primary day, preferably in April or May, with the Convention as it is now, in August/Sept.
If a single day is too much, how about a primary week? M-F, 10 states a day. Or if IA and NH still want to feel special, let them go on Saturday and Sunday, and the rest take M-F. That way, every candidate is still in the race for every state.
And restrict the primaries to Registered Republicans only.
And award delegates based on their proportion of the vote total, or by Congressional district.
