You mean the Global Average Temperature ? Recent NASA data states the Global average has been more or less flat since the 1998 peak. However, since August 2007 Global Temperature averages have been dropping dramatically. January 2008 saw about a 0.6 C average temperature anomaly drop in the US. Obviously, Global Warming is no longer occurring in the short term.

The current questions

Is the recent drop in temperatures just a short term trend ?

Has a new Global Cooling Cycle begun ?

This is why we are seeing all these freak cold and snow pictures from all over the northern Hemisphere. This winter may come to be know as The Global Blizzards of 2008.
