Because you’re interested in who succeeds McCain when he dies in office. But you’re assuming that something like that would occur.
I’m not assuming it either way. I’m honestly surprised he’s lasted this long, outside of some literal Faustian bargain. I can’t bet the future of the country on his hypothetical longevity, though.
