Good - saw your post on that other thread.

You’re right - people needed to be aware before they went to sleep tonight.....sheesh.

I am about to drop off to sleep too.

Storm chaser? Hmmm. That would be sort of interesting...but the devastation afterwards....isn’t.

Oh we had a tornado here (Raleigh NC Area) I think in 1986...killed 4. Flattened a KMart out on Highway 70. Hop skipped and jumped through North Raleigh - hit a subdivision which is where the 4 were killed. Came on the Sunday after a very warm Thanksgiving weekend. When I walked outside that night - I KNEW a storm was about to hit.

Night looked “green” - humidity was almost like a blanket - and it was just too quiet. Told others a tornado would hit. Sure enough it did - but not in our area.

Have always been able to “smell” snow before it fell....and sensed that tornado coming.

But NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING prepared me for Hurricane Fran.

After that I vowed if another Hurricane was heading for RAleigh, I would leave town as soon as it looked that way.

Well - enough. Prayers for KY, TN, all til I fall asleep.

Looks like the people in Jackson were hit maybe the hardest. But that fire in Nashville - not good.

Hope it dies down in the night...and over into our state tomorrow stays calmed down.

Night all.

Other Major County resources are “helping” take care of the fire at the natural gas explosion.

Multiple reports of damage and possible fatalites in north Alabama. Most damage is in the north western part of the state in Lawrence County and also in the Jackson County area.

Mobile homes reported on roadways, homes completely destroyed. One man said he was hiding behind his couch, when it slammed him against the wall and pinned him.He then looked up and saw the sky and rain.

Local news here says 31 dead from the tornadoes and storms. So so bad. Many in Southern Kentucky. Prayers for the family members and for all whose lives have been traumatized by these storms!
