“Insult Huckabee if you must, but it is not in your/our best interest for you to insult the very core of Red State America.”

Is that some kind of threat? You don’t have the power to make it. All bombast, signifying nothing. Your part of the Pub Party has ruined it by wanting more and more and more from it. To the point that some are rejecting your religious and social single issue zealotry out of hand, allowing a McCain to emerge as our RINO liberal candidate, and totally ignoring the concerns of the other two legs of the Pub Party, the foreign relations wing, and the economic wing. You wanted to hog it all to yourselves, and now we are in a real pickle because of it.

And, I might add, the other religions that comprise our Party, such as Catholics, Lutherans, and Jews, etc. You want them pushed out of the picture too. Only the Evangelical point of view will do. Well, you’ve ruined it for us all. I will blame you guys if this primary turns out as it looks like inevitably it will. Thanks a whole bunch.

Let me just say, as an “evangelical conservative”, the huckster represents me or my views no way no how. I don’t know where this idea is coming from, but I just can’t imagine a conservative (by definition almost, evangelical since conservative principles are God given) with any rational thinking ability at all falling for the huckster.

I know we are all at odds over this debacle of a rigged “election” process, but grouping “evangelicals” with hick is like grouping fish with cats.

Mitt bragging on CNN about how the three places he has lived have all voted for him.

UT, MI, and MA.

ROTFL!

What an accomplishment Mitt!

Well, at least you recognize that there are different factions of conservatives, and that we all aren’t the same. Social conservatives, Constitutionalists, libertarians, small-government folks, fiscal conservatives, pro-war-on-terror, small “d” Democrats, Catholic traditionalists, neo-con Jews, 2nd Amendment people, pro-Iraq war, anti-Iraq war, and so forth. We’re a mixed bag.

I am enjoying reading your posts tonight.

You nailed it.

I was a Fred supporter who voted for Mitt.

He just gave a great speech and I’m glad he’s in for the long haul.

Lol, evangelicals have no problem supporting Catholics, Jews, and etc. My political hero is Sen. Santorum who is a devout Catholic. The only reason that religious conservatives ended up going to Huckabee was that none of the other candidates were acceptable. The party elites were pushing Rudy Mcromney from the beggining. Fred Thompson didn’t enter untill late and then never reached out to social conservatives. So, they rallied around Huckabee the one candidate who reached out to them and hadn’t flip flopped on social conservative issues. The only real mistake they made was not rallying behind Duncan Hunter but sadly his campaign was never able to effectively get his social conservative positions out to most of these voters.
