Okay, I’ll log off this thread because I don’t know what it is that you erased and it’s not worth trying to figure it out.

Sometimes its awfully difficult to figure out what is conservative and what is liberal.

Well, in this case, I think that trade benefits the powerless more than the powerful. Even if Castro literally owns Cuba and all of it's people as slaves, his days are numbered and he can only consume and benefit a very finite amount. He already has every benefit and luxery that his power affords. If Cuban slaves benefit a little from free trade, than maybe they can think more about resisting and less about starving.

I don't think it serves conservatism to isolate issues from the broader themes of the conservative worldview.

As presented by Russell Kirk

  1. A belief in a transcendent order, which Kirk described variously as based in tradition, divine revelation, or natural law;
  2. An affection for the "variety and mystery" of human existence;
  3. A conviction that society requires orders and classes that emphasize "natural" distinctions;
  4. A belief that property and freedom are closely linked;
  5. A faith in custom, convention, and prescription, and
  6. A recognition that innovation must be tied to existing traditions and customs, which entails a respect for the political value of prudence

“Looks like another bad stock market day for us tomorrow. Gee, which of the tax-and-spend liberals will lead us out of a recession? /s The one man with any economic sense is pretty much out of th erace.
Isn’t Hillary going to freeze the markets or something?”

Go to cash first thing in the morning. I’m not kidding. The risk/reward for stocks is not good right now...cash is king...My 401k is even in cash (which is rare for me to trade in that acct....The market is going to see Obama or Hillbill as the president. I think we crash 700-1200 pts in the next 2-3 weeks.

Khnyny, I found nothing NFL/beer contact related in the article you linked.

I googled, as you suggested, and found nothing to subtantiate your original claim that McCain backed the building of a new stadium at taxpayer expense so that his wife could win an exclusive beer contract.

What beer was sold at the old stadium? Is AB not the exclusive beer at other NFL venues?

The relationship between AB and the NFL starts more than a few rungs up from Cindy McCain’s place on the ladder. Manufacturers like AB are SPONSORS — they pay millions for their relationships with pro-teams and to have their products in sports venues.

Yes, you’re right—tomorrow is Ash Wednesday.

A good day to be on our knees and ask God to once again have mercy on our country. We don’t deserve it, but we can ask.

I’m not joking folks—bad dif ays are ahead McCain is the nominee. The Dems voted in droves today, and they will not be voting for McCain in November, when they can get Barack or Hillary to give them bread and circuses instead.

And think about it. We had a disgraced President in CLinton, and a terrorist attack on our soil in 2001. And this Republican leadership could not fight Daschle, Reid and Pelosi. Bush should have had a landslide against Kerry and just about won. And the Republicans got trashed in 2006 when they should have consolidated gains.The MSM has not been countered in their lies about Iraq,Plame,Gitmo, Bush, Cheney,. We’ve had Democrats pushing surrender while our troops were fighting for survival in Bagdad.

2008 is shaping up to be 1984 in reverse for us. The headlong rush to a Marxist based Presidency is on the horizon—less than a year away.

That’s why we need to get on our knees tomorrow.

The establishment (both parties) and MSM are driving the bus. Romney, albeit not a conservative, is nonetheless an outsider (vis the beltway) and thus is not welcome by those accustomed to divvying up the booty. Conservatives are merely in the way and need to shut up and continue producing wealth.

Ahh...write-ins ?...probably so, so in that case i’d like to see the write-in totals separate from the machine totals...just to be sure we’re not being messed with...

All you Mccainiacs will be crying because of your lost in November. I’ll be singing” that a girl Hillary. The joy that night watching the Rinos cry, Moderates die, and I can hear the chats “Who let the Conservatives out, oop oop oop!

Can’t wait the next day to hear Rush, Levin, Hannity, etc.

“I don’t get it either. There can’t be that many ‘conservatives’ that want amnesty, higher taxes, and limits to speech. Are they so blinded by thinking ‘we have to beat Hillary at all costs’ that they’ll elect another liberal with remarkably the same positions as Hillary?”

What’s happened is so many people are totally disgusted with the radical direction of the Left into socialism and general godlessness that they have switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, and John McCain, being the most liberal of the candidates, got their vote.

A few minutes ago, Hillary was on TV thanking her supporters for her “victory.” She quoted the Emma Lazarus (”Give me your tired, your poor. . .”) and took some potshots at Pres. Bush. She makes me want to vomit.

“...he is pro-Israel and pro-war on terror.”

Just ONCE, could we PLEASE have a candidate who is PRO-AMERICA, instead of the drooling, never-ending sloppy kiss for Israel? If he is so pro-Israel, then maybe he should run for president IN ISRAEL.

I am shocked how quick so many posters are to throw around the “bigot” label when they are upset about another voters personal decision about how they will vote. It seems to me that a lot of the posters here tonight are expressing some serious resentment towards Christians. Also, if you are going to blame people for considering religion in making a decision about who to support then you should take a look at Utah which went overwhelmingly for Mit. I would expect that his Mormonism probably had something to do with how large his margin of victory was in that state.
