I don’t think most caucus states require a candidate to reach 50%, I think what you get is what you get. That’s how Iowa, Nevada, Wyoming and Maine are.

All caucuses have baselines, even if they aren't 50%. Bill Richardson ordered his supporters to support Obama in the second balloting in Iowa. They all do more than one ballot, so it's not "what you get is what you get."

The Iowa GOP doesn’t. It’s a straight vote. The Dems do the percentage rule (15% here), but not the GOP. I think most other states are that way for the GOP too.
