Polls are closed now in New York and New Jersey. No early calls on the Republican side, that’s not good news for McCain who was touting a +20 poll lead in those states. He’ll probably still win, but it may be surprisingly close.

About Huckabee, very soon he will become an obstacle to McCain, if he continues to hold delegates - he may be able to keep Romney from winning, but he’ll keep McCain from winning too. That buys Romney time until the convention to continure to build support in the base.

If Mitt does well enough tonight and in Texas (he’s on the air here starting today!) even if he doesn’t win in delegate count he can “run out the clock” on the primaries, and work the polls from now till the convention. If the current trends hold, the entire establishment will turn on a dime as soon as it looks like McCain may not be able to close the deal.
