There are hundreds of women, white and colored, who go missing each year and the national media devotes very little attention to them. I think your argument that missing black women are ignored is specious; the same could just as easily be said for the numbers of white women who go missing and get no national press. This case is unique because she is very young, very pretty, and was vacationing at an exclusive resort in the Caribbean.

Seems to me, there is also the element of family involvement. Maybe some families jump straight to the media for exposure and others don’t.
