Dear Anna —

I am so sorry. I know you two were close friends. Nunya was better friends with my dog than me. Still, I loved him and admired him and learned a lot from him.

I ache for his family and a few of those I know for a fact were proud to call him a friend and loved him like a brother.

This is news I cannot quite process right now.

It’s a sad thing to only show up here for the funerals anymore. This one puts me in shock.

Keeping his family, you, his friends and all who were fortunate enough to know him in my prayers. This hurts.

I was wondering how I would get the news to you... so I'm glad you saw the post, but in a horrible way.

It has really been quite a shock to me, and, speaking to someone who is with his family right now, the shock is felt by too many. Which is probably just delaying the grief.

They bury him today. How terribly sad. So young, and with so much potential, a man of such great passion. I'm at a loss...

Thank you for your kind words, Chris, and especially for your prayers. However you must know you were definitely dearer to him than your dog. You're why he liked your dog.
