I’ll take Jean Kirkpatrick’s concise communications and record of conservative action over Keyes’ grandiose oratory and ham-handed politicking every day of the week. Bolton's turn is coming up. But both are wise enough to know that their influence behind the scenes is far more useful than shouting from a podium to their own choir.

Keyes is over; has been over since 2000, and only confirmed the fact in his Senate race. His one debate appearance this year was frankly embarrassing. He recklessly squandered whatever good will and political capital he had remaining.

In other words, he accurately described Mitt Romney.

"Mitt Romney IS Giuliani. He's just lying about it."
