"Giants proved they were the best team in the league this year.
Yeah, they proved that in all SIX of their losses!!
Look, the Giants, primarily their D, played a tremendous game and deserves great credit for one of the most memorable SB wins. That does NOT erase all that the Patriots did in the previous 18 games, not even if some Pats players may say that themselves. The SB is the biggest game but it's certainly not the only game, and 18-1 is still quite different from 14-6. AND, this game could so easily have gone the other way at several points in the 4th quarter. The Giants played quite well but also had some lucky breaks (of course that can be said for every close NFL game).

Down the stretch, the Patriots struggled, starting with the Eagles game, they clearly were not as dominant as they were in the middle of the season.
This is a league where eventually teams figure you out, it took a good portion of the season, but by the end, teams had the Pats figured out.

Personally, I think the Patriots would rather be in the Giants’ shoes right now.

The goal of every NFL team is to win the Super Bowl. By definition, the best team in the NFL is the Super Bowl Champion. The Giants are the best team in the NFL this year.

18-1 is still quite different from 14-6 14-6 with a Super Bowl victory is infinitely superior to 18-1 with a Super Bowl loss.
Infinitely. And I'm sure the entire Patriots franchise would agree.
But continue spinning -- it's entertaining.
