President Bush has maintained neutrality but privately expresses exasperation with Romney's hard-line stance on immigration......Bush is upset Romney changed his position at the expense of the president's immigration reform. Bush and McCain are not close, but he's grateful for McCain's support on Iraq and immigration.
Florida Gov. Crist's unexpected late endorsement, which helped propel McCain to victory, was an unpleasant surprise to state Republican leaders. Crist had said he was not making an endorsement after shunning Giuliani's courtship and suggested that they also stay neutral. His support for McCain irked Republican activists who generally would have preferred former Romney. Romney carried heavily Republican Collier and Lee counties in SW Florida by substantial margins.....voters McCain will have to win over if nominated.

What will you do after the primaries? Throw away your vote by writing someone in?
No vote is ever thrown away, because, like I said, if you are a person with guiding principles and convictions it's more important to be on the right side than the winning side. But I won't make the choice of who I will vote for until November 2008. |
Here’s a question for you
If abortion is morally wrong, shouldn’t it be discouraged.......................?
“Liberal morality is almost totally in the abstract, but not entirely. On one hand, it is amenable to many different “interpretations”, while, on the other hand, it is perfectly clear on the right to be born.
This form of “clarity” exposes the most uncaring amongst us, and is our national shame”.......James Christopher Hall (The Humanity Savers)
“No vote is ever thrown away” Unfortunately, yes it is. You can follow your principles right down the road to McCain. Thus, throwing America away.
Does anyone want to vote for this kind of straight talk ?
There is absolutely no difference between Romney and McCain except that McCain won't lie about his position, whereas Mitt will saying, do, or promise anything to get elected and then screw you. Either way you are screwed. |
Vote for a conservative, even if it's a write in. Period.
Maybe not with McCain- In our present situation I think
the only job the prez should mainly do is deliver dead
terrorists, which which McCain will do, and social issues
must be solved by congress. Well to do that we must
get back congress to GOP. And McCain appeal to
moderates, independents, and Clinton hating dens will
get him in. And the coat tail effect of these folks
comong to vote for him will get a few reversals from
what happened in 06 and we get a GOP Majority.
I say for us all issue conservatives, He can be HilBIl
and get a change in Congress if we don’t pout and go
home, but work with our moderate brethren of which
ther eare a lot of them. Ed Bubel.
Fred Thompson changed his position on the only question that really mattered — actually running for President.
He WAS running, and now he is NOT running. If you won’t honor him for his choice, you should reject him for flip-flopping......
That's pretty weak...especially for you. |
“McCain stands up and tells middle class Americans that their lost jobs arent coming back and suck it up.
Im looking forward to telling a defeated McCain that his job aint coming back and he should suck it up.”
You made my day, oldbill.....really did.
I wanted Fred also, but to go on
forward, no looking back, we must win both WH
and Congress, And McCain has a pull with moderates
and independents that HilBill doesn’t. And the same
moderates and indies won’t vote Romney. Ed Hubel
Who’s Bush embracing?
McPain.
Huck has no chance so he is ignorable. He’s just a petty little man with no class at all.
“There is absolutely no difference between Romney and McCain except that McCain won’t lie about his position”
What a crock. I hope you did watch the debate the other night when he sure as hell did.
By the way thanks for your 20+ years in the Army. I too was in the Army and got out in 1957.
Throwing a vote away in the primary will assure us that McCain will be on the ballot for the Repubs.....against Hillary or Obama.
I could care less about what they say at a debate. Like Rush Limbaugh says, if you want to know how they will govern look at their records, and McCain is no more liberal than Romney and might be a part less liberal. Both of them suck and I'd rather piss on em before vote for em. |
Totally disgusted.
Ashamed of having supported this "W" as a lesser of two evils, when there was in fact a Conservative Independent choice on my ballot at that time. No more "lesser of two evils"!!
my point is that if he was still running, you should vote for him.
If he says “I’m out”, it isn’t honoring to vote for him.
Why not pick the strongest conservative you can think of, and vote for them? Surely that’s not Fred Thompson, right? There must be SOME conservative out there who has a 99% conservative rating or something.
Why not Duncan Hunter? Oh forget that, he also dropped out.
My point is that when you are voting for a candidate who is running, that’s a statement.
if your candidate isn’t running, then picking THAT candidate over some other person who isn’t running doesn’t make a statement.
Why not write in “Ronald Reagan”?
Alan Keyes is still in the race. I said I would vote for either Fred or Ambassador Keyes. |
Jorge y Juan. Hermanos para siempre.
Oh was it? Well did anyone of them flipping SPEAK UP?
