In the midst of our snickering at China’s misfortune, let’s take a minute to reflect on what effect a similar disaster (an area the equivalent of the US from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean, completely shut down - no power, no transportation, no reliable civic services) might have here at home....

Just thinkin’......

When I see a photo of a Chinese officer crouched down breaking ice on the sidewalk with an ax made from a small ax-like head stuck on a bamboo stick, I don't think there's any comparison between their capabilities for dealing with severe weather, and the US.
When I browse through many photographs of the snow in China and there isn't one image of a plow, or any image of chain saws removing downed trees, or repair crews fixing anything, I don't think there's any comparison between China's abilities in storm relief, and the US.
Because you know if the Chinese govt had any relief photos to show other than soldiers piling bales of whatever onto trucks, we would see them.

One big difference, we don’t keep hundreds of thousands of slave laborers in slave quarters in Chicago, only to let them return to there homes in Atlanta once a year.
