I, thankfully, live in the deep South, these days (where an inch of snow will shut things down completely), but I do remember from my frigid youth that a ‘mere’ 8” of snow, with a bit of breeze, can quickly spawn 10-20’ drifts on roadways and railroad tracks....

One of my buddies was so worried about Y2K that he stocked up on cases of Ramin noodles in case we had no power and food instantly went bad at stores.
Turned out he was alergic to Ramin Noodles.

Well, that’s one good thing about this horrible situation.

I saw a video clip where people were stampeding toward a train which showed up after hours of waiting. Some people fell down and got trampled, while others got pushed from behind, their face slammed to the railings. They were crying and bleeding. It was no fun.

” The pictures are all controlled by the state media. See happy faces? Yep. The government is on a brink of riots and they are issuing propaganda that looks like everyone is ok. “

If ya go back and read the Hurricane Katrina Live Threads, you’ll find transcripts of Police Scanner intercepts indicating near-riots in the Superdome...

Where are the Media reports about those? The agreed-upon narrative was of ‘brave Americans stoically enduring the misery.

I can’t eat those noodles either. They are crammed full of MSG. Many people have a severe problem with that additive. MSG was developed in Japan and is used to enhance the flavor of slop.

I know - my heart went out to these poor people when I saw the pictures.

One of my relatives got "stuck" for 6 hours at the Atlanta airport during the holidays. They gave her free drinks, food coupons, and a free round trip ticket. She never stopped complaining about it - being a warm terminal with internet access for SIX whole hours!! The horror.

I was stuck in the bar at Denver's airport for 3 hours, two years in a row. Best darn bloody-marys I've ever had........tears of sorrow ran down my cheeks when it was finally time to board our plane to Kansas.

Cool??

‘Cold’ and ‘Miserable’ are two words that come readily to mind before ‘cool’.... ;~)

If I was in charge of procuring weapons of deterrent I would put an intense effort to create devices that can have weather effects, like frequency generators to create earthquakes, thermaleffective micro devices such as airborne nannites that can be steered to an area like a huge insect swarm and manipulates moisture, pressure and ice crystal formation, and even devices to shift magnetic directions over a subcontinent area.

One could theoretically control the weather upon another country without having to send troops or material in, I can just imagine the strategists recently making game plans of a what-if scenario of a foreign country shut down by adverse weather and if used for an extended time could bring a country down financially.

I wonder how much this effect is going to ripple down to the US economy and its dependence of “lower priced” goods from China. It would be so ironic to see some bare shelf space at Walmart.
