What is the mother’s motivation? Why, other than possibly granting her daughters wish (which is in dispute), would Lauren’s mother want her dead?

Without presuming what possesses the mom I see a number of possible and valid motives. I don't even think the reasons per se are necessarly profound, just a light framework upon which the bioethic club can build.

Perhaps she is in huge denial. We have seen plenty of that with parents who can't bear to face what happened and just hope it goes away. We have seen parents with selfish motives, once again not profound, but just enough, who figure life would be better if the problem went away. I suspect many an abortion evolved thusly.

That leaves an inroad for the club of "bioethickers" (Our term for the purveyors of the dark craft of controlling who dies, as in bioethick heads...) Some like George Felos, one who drools over killings like this, have started to weigh in. With someone like the mom carrying maybe some of the aforementioned tendencies, they can pry and influence to get her on their side.

I also think they have pulled a chamber of silence over her head and she may have no idea her daughter would suffer a horribly agonizing death over many days as happened to Terri. After it is too late, her newfound friends won't care anyway.

The culture of death (who purport to believe in "bioethics" but actually worship Satan) has so infiltrated the medical community that many doctors actually believe that involuntary death is preferable to treating the sick. They transmit their evil beliefs to the family of those who suffer and many succumb to their agenda. It would appear that Lauren's mother is one of them.
