We will never take back over once amnesty is invoked as well. We are a species going extinct.

Oh, it’ll be Huckabee, you can count on that. That will be his gesture to conservatives.

....The second factor is a broken primary process. McCain is not being nominated by conservatives or for the most part, even by Republicans. He is being nominated by liberal voters from liberal leaning states who hold the earliest primaries and vote to eliminate all conservatives from the race before “fly-over” Republicans get a chance to cast a single vote.......And that’s the reason I’m sick of this. A few months ago there’s no way in hell someone could have told me McAmnesty would be leading after the thrashing he got on amnesty! Thats why all those states moved their primaries up then????

“This is true.
Even now...ppl are not getting behind our only hope....”

And the reason for that is because your “only hope” is a huge part of the problem!

Your “only hope” polls like crap in Republican states and still would in Nov!

I’ve been thrown out of better places, but this one, I ain’t leaving without a fight.

Don’t forget, the BIG TENT was Reagan’s idea for growing the Republican Party.

I don’t think he envisioned what has happened since, but the BIG TENT was a Reagan idea...

Oh, I think we all understand the difference.

If you’re not conservative, you are Republican in name only... That’s the point.

Me too. It doesn’t make much sense.

That’s a proposal to create a geographically regional party that will consistently nominate presidential candidates to the right of the general electorate.

In a parliamentary system, such a party can wield considerable influence by coalition.

But in ours, where a simple majority allows a party to set the agenda in Congress and the president is elected by a system that roughly mirrors the popular vote, such a party has to depend on the opposition to consistently nominate weak candidates and consistently do politically stupid things.

IMO the best such a party could hope for would be to find itself in the position of the “Dixiecrats”, and that only worked because racism was an electoral glue stronger that other sorts of self-interest - a situation not likely to be repeated on the basis of current issues.

The big tent if fine but we can’t let the circus animals get the first vote on how it will be managed.

But it’s not...

Half-right is not as good as all right, but it beats the hell out of all wrong.

How about this idea states get their primary date based on past election results. Those that had the highest Republican turn out in the last National Election go first and so on. Finally only registered Republicans can vote in the primaries.

I think we would see a much different result.

If we don’t derail the McCain train, you will either vote for McCain or abstain and help Clinton-Obama.

Don’t worry about November when we can still make a difference in February.

I think the real point is that your statement is no longer true.

The Party is leaving us behind.

"McCain will seek to merge the GOP with the Democrats, a Unity Party. He might choose Lieberman as his veep"

It's crossed my mind that Leiberman might be a better choice for Prez.

You can quit if quitting is your thing. It’s just not my thing.

The people allowed this to happen. Only the people can change it from ever happening again.

Change the people, and they will change their government.

McCain's Mental and Physical Health are deteriorating.

He should drop out and be a patriot.
