Mad John switching to the Dhimmi party are not accurate at all, in 2004 Mad John rebuffed John Kerry’s attempts to recruit him for the VP role.
In 2001, the story goes that Mad John’s chief of staff Weaver approached the Dhimmis but was short circuited when Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords leapt.
Of course there is not a shred of proof for the 2001 accusations.
