Seven good reasons to support Mike Huckabee [be sure to read reason number seven].... ...Number seven, if we can keep Huckabee in the race all the way through, thus preventing McCain or Romney from gaining enough delegates to win the nomination, then maybe, just maybe a deadlocked convention might seek out another candidate. One who can re-unite the Reagan Coalition, save the GOP, and put us back on the conservative track. Of course, my personal favorite to be that man would be FRed Thompson.
Jim, Fred doesn't think Huckabee is the one.
THOMPSON: It's an important issue, because I think it demonstrates what we're about here today. I think that Governor Huckabee's campaign manager said it accurately in terms of what they believe. They believe that it is over.
This is a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party and its future. On the one hand, you have the Reagan revolution. You have the Reagan coalition of limited government and strong national security.
On the other hand, you have the direction that Governor Huckabee would take us in. He would be a Christian leader, but he would also bring about liberal economic policies, liberal foreign policies.
THOMPSON: He believes we have an arrogant foreign policy and the tradition of, blame America first.
He believes that Guantanamo should be closed down and those enemy combatants brought here to the United States to find their way into the court system eventually.
He believes in taxpayer-funded programs for illegals, as he did in Arkansas.
He has the endorsement of the National Education Association, and the NEA said it was because of his opposition to vouchers.
He said he would sign a bill that would ban smoking nationwide. So much for federalism. So much for states' rights. So much for individual rights.
That's not the model of the Reagan coalition, that's the model of the Democratic Party.

Oh please.
He believes we have an arrogant foreign policy and the tradition of, blame America first.
This is at least a mischaracterization. At most an outright lie.
He believes that Guantanamo should be closed down and those enemy combatants brought here to the United States to find their way into the court system eventually.
False. He favored closing down an expensive base because it no longer is shielded from the American court system thanks to a SCotUS ruling.
He believes in taxpayer-funded programs for illegals, as he did in Arkansas.
False. He has stated the opposite, has specifically placed in his plan that this will never happen, and had much less control over the issue as governor than a Senator in Washington.
He said he would sign a bill that would ban smoking nationwide. So much for federalism. So much for states' rights. So much for individual rights.
Only in federal buildings. I forget, do states have control over federal buildings?
That's not the model of the Reagan coalition, that's the model of the Democratic Party.
Yeah, I remember, the Democratic Party is pro-2nd Amendment, pro-war, pro-life, pro-border fence, against gay marriage, and pro-tax-cuts. Wait. No it isn't. This is the sorriest piece of campaign rhetoric and Fred Thompson should be embarrassed to have said that.

Why not forgo all of your false imaginations that these guys are true conservatives and open your eyes. Look at what Ron Paul stands for and start voting for a true conservative. Hell you have only been listening to the MSM and they never let him talk enough to espouse a decent position.
He wants to get a hold of those terrorists also, problem is we’ve gone astray, declared war on a tactic. Lets get it straight, we are to respect other nations borders if want them to respect ours. Put off the war idea, come over to the Ron Paul Constitutional governing once again, and you’ll get lot of the Democratic vote because of Ron Paul’s position on Iraq. Lets battle it out. Ron Paul IS conservative, has been for many years! Check his record! Give up the war in Iraq and lets be a nation together again, based on the governing principles in our Constitution!
