The idea that Huckabee is anybodies man is ridiculous. Huckabee came out of nowhere and turned this race upside down. The conservatives in the party need to ally with the social conservatives/religious right or they are nowhere in terms of primary contests. The reverse is true as well. That is the natural alliance for both. Better start talking to the other or both wings will get shut out of the process in favor of the McCains and the Romneys — picks of the establishment, media and Rockefeller Republican types.

Not only is it not ridiculous, it's painfully obvious. The next ill word about John McCain that spills from the Huckster's mouth will be the first.

He's in this for one reason, and it isn't because any serious person believes he's ever going to be POTUS. He's there to split the anti-McCain vote while not tearing down the establishment's "chosen one". That's why he hasn't laid a glove on the frontrunner, nor will he.

When McCain gets slaughtered in the general, Mike Huckabee is the man America's going to have to thank for it.
