He is not an airy idealist. That’s just political cover. His own writings reveal that he repudiated his hippy idealist mother and his white grandparents, who took over the job of raising him. His ideal is to be like his father: black, tribalist, and Muslim.
His support for Odinga and the Christian-burning Muslim terrorists in Kenya confirms that.
Also significant is that he gravitated to a black power church, which is clearly modeled on the Black Muslims, although it labels itself “Christian.” Might as well elect Louis Farrakhan to the White House. At least he’s open about his beliefs.
He knows that he needs to appeal to the hippie left if he is to have a chance of winning. But that isn’t where his heart belongs.
