I both agree and disagree. There is a solution that I never hear discussed and it is about time we started talking about it. In New Your, where I grew up, they have a stable FOUR party system: Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Liberal. The reason that the NY Conservative Party isn't a "third party" is that they routinely endorse the conservative candidates running as Republicans. In other words, dual endorsement is normal in NY. When a liberal is running as a GOP candidate, the Conservative Party run a separate contender. Why isn't there a national party like this? Why couldn't it start here on FR? The National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) is a step in the right direction but it has nothing to do when a conservative isn't running.
